Wooden Gates
We have made many wooden gates over the years for driveways and side gates. Wood continues to be a popular choice due to its cost compared to metal gates and its ease to work with.
It is relatively easy to make a bespoke sized gate on site - especially a side garden gate. Typically it will be the width at the side of a house which will vary greatly and whilst the standard sized garden gate is 3 foot wide if you have more space than this most people to go wider to make it much easier to bring things from the front to the back of the house.
We use treated wood so maintenance will be similar to our garden fences so following your wooden gate installation you will not need to carry out any initial treatment on your new gate.
Composite Gates
As you would probably expect with the growth of composite and PVC fencing there will generally be the option to have a matching gate from the manufacturer. Whilst this is a service offered by most manufacturers they generally have long lead times and the danger is that it is your responsibility to ensure that the measurements are correct. With some composite and PVC manufacturers it is possible for our team to make a gate in a similar fashion to our bespoke wooden gates but there will probably be more limitations. All said if you do have one made it will look good and require little to no maintenance for many years. There is a variety of colours that can be matched to your fencing.
